We are unique in how we go about providing freshly prepared foods. To start, the magic happens right where we sell it. Each store has a full Kitchen on site, which prepares all of the Flavor First foods that have catapulted DLM to a gourmet hub of Made Right Here favorites. Our homemade soups, dips, Deli salads, quiches, and ready-made foods in our Gourmet Takeaway, such as entrées, side dishes, and so much more, are Made Right Here fresh at each store where you find it. 

THE SECRET INGREDIENT? OUR KITCHENS

We don’t have a mysterious central kitchen far away supplying us with foods made days before we receive them. We roll up our sleeves and get busy, with skilled and talented cooks in each one of our stores' Kitchens. Every single day from morning to evening, there is baking, roasting, braising, sautéing, poaching, steaming, and frying taking place! Take our Old-Fashioned Chicken Salad for example (a go-to bestseller). We classically poach our fresh (never frozen) DLM Natural Chicken in a housemade court bouillon. 

Once our delicious food is prepared, it goes into our beautiful cases for you to see or is pre-packaged and ready to sell. No time is spent storing or transporting; therefore, we don't need any additional preservative methods, such as canning, vacuum-sealing, or freezing. The result is freshly made foods ready to eat. 

Although opening cases of sealed bags and defrosting ingredients is tempting for many in standard grocery stores all over the country, we just simply don’t do that. Sure, it is a lot easier and of course it would save us a ton of labor and money! Our bottom line is that we believe that real people preparing and cooking our own fresh food just tastes better. There is no shortcut for that and you can taste the difference.

WHY WE BELIEVE INGREDIENTS MATTER

When I was a new culinary school graduate, I remember getting my first job at a highly regarded restaurant and being so disillusioned with some of the low-quality ingredients used to cut corners. Needless to say, as a chef, I'm really proud of the ingredients that we use in our prepared foods every day to bring our Flavor First food mentality to life. 

Clarified butter, fresh DLM Natural Chicken and other proteins from our Meat department, freshly caught and flown-in seafood, our imported olive oils, fresh fruits and vegetables, and our premium private label DLM Spices are just a few ingredients that taste better. Flavor is why our customers keep coming back, and quality is the basis for achieving this, regardless of the dish.

The best sandwiches are a sum of all their parts, so it makes perfectly good sense that our Sandwich Stations craft a lot of amazing sandwiches. We bake the best bread in town, our meats and cheeses are of the highest quality, and we source many of our fresh toppings right from our store.

GOURMET TAKEAWAY

You shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality when you choose convenience. Our Gourmet Takeaway case is brimming with ready-to-heat-and-eat entrées and side dishes, all made in our state-of-the-art Kitchens. Order à la carte or choose two sides and an entrée and make it a Dinner Deal!

HOMEMADE SOUP DAILY

Made Right Here, our Kitchens make soup daily using chef-driven recipes. In fact, we take soup so seriously, we have dedicated soup cooks at each DLM location! See what we're serving today!

THE DLM DELI

Just look at the case and your eyes will dance as they soak in the variety of Deli salads that are all Made Right Here in our Kitchens. Our Deli also is known for carrying the best lunch meats—all natural & no preservatives or added nitrates/nitrites.

DLM ROTISSERIE CHICKEN

Our Ferrari-red, French-style La Rotisserie oven loaded with plump, juicy chickens is a spectacular site! We look to our DLM Natural Chicken that's air chilled, lifetime free of antibiotics and growth promotants, vegetarian fed, and humanely raised.

NAPLES-STYLE PIZZA 

True Naples-style crust is airy with a charred exterior and chewy interior. To achieve this, we use handmade dough and bake directly on the hearth. Available at DLM Springboro and Washington Square.
