We promise never to share or sell your name, address, or purchase history to a third party. Your personal information may be used by DLM to personalize your experience, but will only be used to market to you by DLM.
As detailed below, we collect personal data from you to serve you best. Whether, for example, it is in the form of your name and email address when you place an order with DLM Drive-Up, or your contact information when you sign up for Club DLM, we collect personal data so we can contact, identify, and serve you better. The data you provide helps us understand your preferences, so we can personalize and continually improve your shopping experience.
We collect the following personal data:
We collect information about you in a number of ways, including:
In addition, when you visit our website or use our mobile apps, we use digital tracking tools (such as “cookies”, web beacons or pixels) to receive and store information whenever you interact with us through your computer or mobile device. This information, which may include the pages you visit on our site, your web address, the type of browser, device or hardware you are using, search terms, advertising identifier, mobile network information, and IP-based geographic location, helps us recognize you and customize your website experience. Digital tracking tools can also tell us what websites you have visited before visiting our website, which can help us better serve you. You can set your browser to reject and/or remove digital tracking tools at any time.
Some of our stores (including exterior facilities) utilize video surveillance and other fraud monitoring tools (collectively, “Security Equipment”) to create a safer environment for our staff and customers, and to deter, prevent, investigate and/or prosecute any illegal activity that may occur on our premises. Our video systems record digital images but do not record audio. Information from the Security Equipment (“Security Information”) is accessible only to a limited number of DLM employees, or to third-party service providers or law enforcement, engaged to assist with security-related tasks. The third-party service providers may have access to Security Information only where strictly required to perform their tasks, and are not allowed to use the Security Information for any other purposes; and we may provide Security Information to law enforcement for investigations, to prevent fraud or for safety and security purposes.
We may use third-party digital tracking tools provided by third-party service providers to help us collect and analyze information about your use of our website. This information may include how often you visit our website, the pages you visit, and the other websites you use prior to visiting our website. We use this information to improve our website and your customer experience while on our site. Most third-party analytics tools collect only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit our website, rather than your name or other identifying information. Although third-party analytics tools store a digital tracking tool on your computer or device to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit our website, the digital tracking tool typically cannot be used by anyone but that third party. Some of these third-party service providers may collect information from our website for retargeting and more personalized interest-based advertising. Some third-party service providers may also build a profile of users’ online browsing activities. For more information about these forms of targeted advertising and to understand your right to opt out from these practices, please visit: https://youradchoices.com/choices-faq. Additional information on how to opt out of targeted advertising practices of NAI or DAA affiliated advertisers is available here: NAI Opt Out or DAA Opt Out. To further prevent targeted advertising based on browser behavior, you can disable digital tracking tools on your browser.
All third-party digital tracking tools that we use are hosted by the third parties providing them to DLM.
These tools include the following:
Due to a lack of standardization regarding “Do Not Track” signals, we are not able to receive or honor “Do Not Track” signals received from browsers. Instead, you can use the range of other tools listed above to control information collection and use.
We may use the information we collect in a variety of ways, including:
Where DLM de-identifies personal data in order to protect it, we will not re-identify such data and, if such de-identified data is shared with a third party as described below, we will take steps to ensure that no re-identification occurs. It is also important for us to keep certain information relating to your account, such as historical purchases, even if you request that we delete your personal data (see “Data Rights” section). If you do request deletion of your personal data, we will remove it from our databases and systems by deleting your data or de-identifying it, although we will retain any information we are required to keep by law.
DLM may work with third parties to show you tailored ads. We may also work with third-party platforms, like Google or Facebook, to show DLM ads on these platforms.
Lastly, if you place an order through our website or applications as a “guest,” we will retain the order information you provide, in case you have any questions about the order later.
Employees
Of course, our employees need access to your personal data to serve you better. Access to customer information, however, is limited to employees who need it in order to serve customers, maintain our information systems or for safety and security purposes. All employees with access to customer personal data are subject to our company privacy and information security policies.
Vendors
We may confidentially provide purchase information to vendors in aggregated (i.e., customer non-specific) or de-identified form in order to engage in planning, research and product development, or to bring you special offers on products and services.
Service Providers
We may confidentially share personal data with companies that provide support services to us, such as direct mail, marketing, email, web hosting, and payment processing. These companies are not authorized to share or use the information we provide for any other purpose.
Third Parties
Third parties that we contract with may use cookies and similar technologies to collect or receive information from our website and use that information to provide services on our behalf.
Other Situations
We may release customer personal data when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our legal rights; or to protect our customers or us. We may also provide de-identified purchase and profile data to product brands and advertisers that they may use to send ads to you (the ads reach you from such entities based on other de-identified and aggregated purchase and profile information they have, but not on identifiable information from us). We may also release your information if you request or authorize us to do so.
You have the right to delete some or all of the personal data DLM has collected about you. Valid requests to delete may be fulfilled by deleting or de-identifying this information, although DLM will retain any information we are required to keep by law. Deleting your information also includes deleting your Club DLM account, which will discontinue certain experiences like accessing associated discounts, digital coupons, and purchase receipt history.
You may also have the right to opt-out of certain processes, such as targeted advertising.
To exercise these rights, please Contact Us. Please note that if you make a request, we will need to authenticate your identity (either that you are the person that is the subject of the request or the legal guardian of that person) to carry out the requests. If we can’t authenticate your identity, we will let you know.
Our website and applications are not designed nor intended to collect personal data from children under the age of sixteen. If we become aware that we have received personal data through our website or applications from a visitor under the age of sixteen, we will delete the information from our records.
Our website may provide links to other sites for your convenience and information. These other websites are operated by companies not affiliated with us, and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content of those websites, your use of them, or their privacy practices.
This Privacy Policy was last updated as of January 1, 2024. We may further update this policy at any time. We encourage you to review it from time to time for changes.
If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy, or if you would like to access your information we have about you or change your preferences, please use the form provided on our "Contact Us” webpage or write to us at:
