Caramel and nut flavors with a touch of Scotch whisky, this coffee will take you back to the Scottish Highlands. One of their most popular flavors in the Mid-West! Our friends Don and Henry Dean of Boston Stoker have been coffee roasters since the early 1970s. Their passion is evident every time you savor a cup of this wonderful coffee. They take great pride in directly sourcing their beans from around the world and building relationships with the farmers. DLM serves Boston Stoker Coffees exclusively in our Coffee Bars, and Original Grogg is one of our top sellers and favorites in Dayton. Formerly known as Highlander Grogg.

The Golden Rule: Coffee-to-Water Ratio
Standard Drip / Pour-Over: Use 2 rounded tablespoons (approx. 10g) of coffee for every 6 oz of cold, filtered water (a standard 1:16 ratio).
If measuring by weight: Use 28g to 30g of coffee per 450g (16 oz) of water.
Best Brew Methods
Automatic Drip (Everyday Brewing)
Grind Size: Medium (resembles coarse sand).
Water Temp: 195°F–205°F (use fresh, filtered water to avoid chlorine altering the subtle vanilla & butterscotch notes).
Result: Highlights the smooth, dessert-like aromatics without over-extracting bitterness.
French Press (Rich & Full-Bodied)
Grind Size: Coarse (resembles sea salt).
Method: Add grounds, pour 200°F water, steep for 4 minutes, stir gently, and press.
Result: Extracts the full natural oils, enhancing the creamy caramel body.
Cold Brew (Refreshing & Naturally Sweet)
Grind Size: Extra Coarse.
Ratio: 1 part coffee to 5 parts cold filtered water (or ~1 cup coarse grounds to 4 cups cold water).
Steep Time: 12–16 hours in the refrigerator, then strain.
Result: Exceptionally smooth with almost zero acidity, making the butterscotch and caramel notes taste like an iced treat.
Store in a cool dry place in a tightly sealed container. Boston Stoker does not recommend freezing the coffee beans.
