For over 30 years, Dorothy Lane Market has partnered with Bowman & Landes in New Carlisle, Ohio, to raise a Non-GMO Project Verified free-range turkey, now fully cooked, oven-browned, and shipped nationwide for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any holiday gathering.

Our quest for a better turkey started with a simple question for our friends at Bowman & Landes: how good could a turkey be? Their free-range birds were already exceptional, raised without antibiotics on a 100% vegetarian diet. But we knew that together we could go a step further, so we worked to earn Non-GMO Project Verified status, meeting strict independent standards for every ingredient in the feed. Why? Because we believed it was the right thing to do. Did we mention it’s delicious, too?

Each turkey averages 14–16 lbs and serves 14-16 guests, at ¾ to 1 lb per person. It’s minimally processed and ships frozen with expedited delivery, ready to thaw, reheat, and carve.

When should I order my fully cooked turkey to arrive in time for Thanksgiving?

Our fully cooked turkeys begin shipping November 9, 2026, and arrive within two days. To allow time to thaw in the refrigerator before Thanksgiving on November 26, we recommend ordering it between Wednesday 11/18 and Monday 11/23 to allow time to thaw. Expedited shipping is required because this is a perishable item.

How do I thaw and reheat a fully cooked turkey?

Your turkey may arrive partially frozen. Thaw it in its packaging in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Then preheat the oven to 325°F, place the turkey in a roasting pan with 1 cup of DLM Premium Turkey Broth, and cover it loosely with foil. Heat for 1-1½ hours, until the thickest part of the breast reaches 135°F. Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes and baste. Let it rest for 20 minutes before carving. Because it’s fully cooked, you can also serve it cool.

What makes the DLM turkey Non-GMO and free-range?

Our turkeys are raised free-range by Bowman & Landes, a farm in New Carlisle, Ohio. They are fed a 100% vegetarian diet and raised without antibiotics. The Non-GMO Project, an independent third-party organization, verifies that the feed contains no genetically modified ingredients such as GMO corn or soy.

A Non-GMO Project Verified Turkey means that the turkey and its feed have been independently verified to contain no genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

No GMOs in Feed: The turkey was fed a diet that is free from genetically modified ingredients, such as corn or soybeans.
- Independent Verification: The Non-GMO Project is a third-party organization that has certified the turkey's production process to ensure it meets strict standards for GMO avoidance.
- Turkey Reheating Suggestion Preheat oven to 325ºF. Place turkey in a roasting pan and add 1 cup of water or DLM Premium Turkey Broth to the bottom; cover loosely with foil. Reheat the fully cooked turkey until hot and the temperature in the thickest part of the breast reaches 135ºF. Allow 1-1½ hours for the whole turkey to heat. Remove foil for the last 15 minutes and baste the turkey with the juices from the pan. Remove turkey from oven and let sit for 20 minutes before carving. This helps the turkey maintain its juices. Because our turkeys are grown and not manufactured, the sizes and weights may vary. Cooking times are approximate.
