We freeze Nueske’s brats early for peak quality
We place Nueske’s Cheddar Bratwurst into frozen storage in our own facility well before the manufacturer’s printed “freeze by” date. That date simply marks the last day the sausage should be frozen, not when it expires.
Quality is locked in for up to a year
Nueske’s and their partners stand behind the quality and safety of their bratwurst for up to 365 days from the date it is frozen. Because we freeze these brats ahead of schedule, you enjoy the full benefit of that year-long quality window, regardless of what the “freeze by” label might imply.
Carefully packed to arrive cold
Your brats are shipped in an insulated container with dry ice and/or gel packs, chosen for the route and season. This packaging keeps the sausage at a safe temperature in transit, and it is completely normal if some or all of the dry ice has disappeared on arrival—it means it kept your order cold along the way.
