Teen Cooking Camp: International Cooking Adventure

In this weeklong camp, teen chefs will enjoy hands-on experience creating popular dishes from favorite food destinations. You'll learn techniques and skills for making homemade Naan, the popular Latin American Tres Leches Cake, and many more interesting culinary topics. Mary will encourage students to expand their horizons in the kitchen, introducing a variety of rich, cultural cuisines with deliciously successful results. 

Menu for the Week

  • Monday: Italy

Fettuccini Alfredo With Chicken, Pasta e Fagioli (pasta and beans), and Italian Cherry Ice Cream Sandwiches With Homemade Pizzelle Cookies

  • Tuesday: India

Chicken Tikka Masala, Homemade Naan, Basmati Rice, and Mango Sticky Rice

  • Wednesday: Mexico

Homemade Guacamole With Chips, Homemade Flour Tortillas, Chicken Enchiladas, and Tres Leches Cake

  • Thursday: France

Croque Monsieur (ham and Gruyère cheese griddled sandwich), Roasted Potatoes With Creamy Herb Dipping Sauce, and Chocolate Pot de Crème With Raspberries

  • Friday: American Southern Comfort

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Skillet Mac & Cheese, Buttermilk Biscuits With Honey-Orange Compound Butter, and Banana Pudding With Nilla Wafers

Mary Cooney is a first-generation Italian-American who has a passion for teaching that is hard to equal. She loves to share her knowledge of authentic Italian dishes as well as baking pies and desserts. She has been on staff at the SOC since 2005.

Culinary Center Class Cancellation & Registration Policy

Culinary Center class registrations may be cancelled up to 7 days prior to the scheduled class date to receive a full refund, with proper notification. Cancellations made with notification after the 7-day deadline are eligible for credit toward future culinary class registrations if notification is given prior to the day of a class. If you are unable to attend any class, you are welcome to send a substitute in your place. To give proper notifications for a cancellation or notice of a substitution, please contact the culinary center location where your class is taking place. Any no-call, no-show participants forfeit refunds or class credits. The DLM Culinary Center reserves the right to cancel a class, when necessary, due to inclement weather, emergencies, or insufficient enrollment, and may also substitute instructors or food items when required. In the event that a class is cancelled, registered students will receive a full refund or credit, as applicable.
